Water Hygiene Engineer

Water Hygiene Engineer - Buckinghamshire

Ref: 3058Tuesday 12 November 2024

£25,000 - £35,000

Our client provides domestic and recreational water testing, water hygiene & environmental consultancy and Legionella Compliance services.  We have also found a niche in providing services that most companies in our sector are unable/unwilling to provide, such as waste water testing, environmental water consultancy, bathing water testing, private water supply testing and ingress investigations.

We are now seeking a water treatment/water systems engineer to enable us to bring remedial services in-house and allow us to actively market these remedial services.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•            Domestic water system disinfections

•            Cold water tank cleaning and disinfection

•            Regular remedial service works as per HSG 274 pt2 Table 2.1

•            Remedial plumbing work (e.g. dead leg / dead end removal)

The applicant will need to be sufficiently competent and confident in their own abilities to carry out the works themselves, address issues when they arise and need to be confident the applicant can do this.  You will be involved with establishing these services in house, such as equipment purchase and developing appropriate RAMS.  In addition, as a dynamic and developing company, we would also ideally seek to establish services around the engineer’s current skill set.

The applicant will also be expected to carry out water sampling and water testing (as per HSE HSG274 pt2 Table 2.1).  Therefore, Legionella Awareness training and previous Legionella Compliance works experience is preferred.  These works will be scheduled in when engineering works are unavailable or as cover for other members of the team.

Reasonable self-organisational, presentation and time-keeping skills are required to ensure applicant arrives at sites in a timely and professionally presentable manner with appropriate equipment for works.

The applicant will need to be able to communicate with clients and colleagues effectively.  Applicant will produce site reports as required by works; we will likely require the applicant’s assistance in designing the format of the engineering reports.  We currently use an Excel based report format and therefore, the applicant will need to be conversant with Excel (further training can be provided in that regards).

The applicant will need a UK driving license and be willing to work from home.

Expected salary: £25-35K, dependent on skills/experience.  Holiday allowance of 28 days, inclusive of Bank Holidays.
