Our client provides highly tailored risk management solutions, due diligence and corporate services to managing agents and property managers, commercial property owners and other leading blue-chip companies. The company offer extensive experience in risk management across Health & Safety, Fire, Water and Asbestos with highly qualified specialist consultants.

 

The company are now recruiting for a Senior Water Consultant that will report to the Director. You will work as part of a team of full-time consultants and part-time associates across the UK, providing a first-class consultative service to our clients in both the private and public sector.

 

The company provides a range of services including risk assessment, consultancy, sampling and training is delivered by highly trained, experienced and competent staff who can assist in achieving full legislative compliance and maintaining safe water systems. 

 

Duties Include:

  • Undertake planned visits to a range of commercial properties - many of the visits are accompanied by a client Facilities or Building Manager and this gives an excellent opportunity to engage with the client, providing advice and guidance on issues surrounding water hygiene.  You might be asked to follow up on specific queries arising from a visit or where we identify a specific problem like “out of spec” laboratory results. 
  • Undertaking Legionella risk assessments and audits of domestic hot and cold water systems
  • Writing of technical reports
  • Collection of microbiological samples and submission to our partner laboratory
  • You will be a valued and trusted member of the team, encouraged to use your initiative and expertise to the full in ensuring that we provide a high level and value-added service to all our clients.  We are committed to ensuring that consultants receive additional training and develop their professional competence as far as possible

 

 

The working week will be split between visits to client sites and time working from home in research and report writing.  A typical fortnight might entail two site days one week and three the next, but this can vary depending on client requirements etc (i.e. 4 days out some weeks).  AutoCAD and/or visio are used for schematics and full training can be provided on this as part of the induction process. The company will provide all necessary equipment including a laptop and phone.

 

 

Skills/Knowledge Required:

  • Solid experience of undertaking legionella risk assessments of domestic water systems
  • Good understanding of the Legislation/Guidance surrounding the control of legionella bacteria
  • A Science/Engineering degree
  • Ability to work individually and as part of a larger team
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal is essential
  • Good knowledge of IT systems ie Microsoft Office

 

Desirable:

  • Previous experience of working for a consultancy
  • Experience risk assessing and auditing evaporative cooling systems
  • Membership of The Water Management Society
  • Previous experience using AutoCAD
