Our client is a national company that is a key player in the water and air hygiene industries. They provide a comprehensive range of services to commercial and industrial clients across the UK and have regional offices in throughout the UK. The company helps mitigate the potentially harmful effects of water and air in their buildings while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

They are now seeking an experienced National Contract Manager (NCM) to join their team. As a National Contract Manager, you will oversee people management, business development, site reporting and contract management. You will work closely with Account Managers, Engineers and Technicians to ensure the successful delivery of services while maintaining high-quality standards and fostering strong client relationships.

This is a dynamic and challenging role, ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a strong technical background in LCA (Legionella Control Association) procedures and a proven track record in business development and team management.

 

Key Responsibilities:

People Management:

  • Lead and manage teams of Account Managers, Engineers and Technicians.
  • Oversee recruitment, disciplinaries and HR-related tasks.
  • Provide ongoing training, mentoring and ensure competency development within the team.
  • Support and motivate your team to meet performance targets and business objectives.

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and upsell services to existing clients.
  • Maximise opportunities within current accounts and encourage your team to generate leads.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships to drive growth.

Site Reporting & Quality Control:

  • Ensure accurate site reporting, including quality, accuracy, remedials, completed tasks, and quotations.
  • Identify non-conformities in site paperwork and generate quotes or defect logs as required.
  • Ensure all site documentation is of the highest technical, visual and punctual standard.

Contract Management:

  • Oversee daily operations of service contracts and act as the Account Manager for key contracts.
  • Manage contract renewals and attend renewal meetings as needed.
  • Continuously focus on providing excellent customer service to differentiate from competitors.
  • Identify and pursue contract opportunities in other business areas (Risk assessments, Air Hygiene, Projects).

Scheduling & Workflow Management:

  • Ensure engineers and technicians efficiently plan and complete their tasks.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring that all work is completed according to contract specifications.
  • Proactively manage workload, especially during periods of high demand or staff absence.

Health & Safety:

  • Attend monthly Health & Safety meetings and provide updates on contract status.
  • Conduct regular competency reviews, car audits and kit audits to maintain high standards.
  • Ensure adherence to LCA procedures and assist with annual audits.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits as required.
  • Offer recommendations regarding bacteriological and closed-circuit systems.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in managing teams, ideally within a technical or service-oriented field.
  • Strong experience with LCA and HSG274 Part 2 guidelines and compliance.
  • Demonstrable experience in business development, contract management and upselling.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Exceptional communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and managing high-volume workloads.
  • Full UK driving licence required.
