Our Client is a leading Environmental Consultancy that is now recruiting for a Legionella Quality & Assurance Consultant.
Position Objective
- To undertake the quality assurance processes on all risk assessment reports and ensure they are kept to a high standard. To assist the principal consultant and head of service with app changes / updates, LCA membership audit documentation and competency management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Significant experience of carrying out Legionella risk assessments and ideally from a Legionella Consultancy background.
- Suitable experience across multiple sectors is desirable (education / healthcare / commercial etc).
- Suitable experience across multiple water system types is desirable (evaporative cooling / hot and cold water systems / spa’s and hot tubs / swimming pools.
- An approved Legionella Risk Assessment qualification eg. City & Guilds, BOHS, WMSoc.
- A good working knowledge of ACoP L8, HSG 274, HTM 04- 01 & other relevant Guidance Documents.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Be fluent in both verbal and written English.
- Ideally will have experience of app-based risk assessment software.
- Ideally experience with quality assurance processes from previous work.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out QA processes on all legionella risk assessments in line with company policy and processes.
- Addressing issues / mistakes / omissions in legionella risk assessments and liaising with the responsible consultant to ensure the reports are delivered in good time.
- Providing general advice to consultants on the correct method of undertaking the risk assessments.
- Attend team meetings to discuss issues and trends identified over time.
- To assist as necessary with discussions on app changes / updates
- Assist as necessary with LCA membership audits, this may include management of existing documentation, creation of new documentation / processes and delivery of evidence during audits.
- Assist as necessary with competency management processes including but not limited to tracking team competencies, organising specific training where necessary, undertaking on site audits annually of legionella consultants.

- Must have a keen understanding of the risk assessment concept and how to apply it to Legionella control.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with internal teams and external organisations in a suitable manner.
- Have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Will have a good working knowledge of commercial and industrial water systems, supplies and water regulations governing these.
- Willing to travel and do overnight stays .
- Willing to travel abroad.
Desirable but not essential
- Experience in Indoor Air Quality
- Experience with other pathogens such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and E-coli
Remuneration
- Basic Salary of £40K - £45K
