The company ensure the safety of buildings, occupants, and assets through the design, installation, and maintenance of fire suppression and prevention systems. The company are seeking an experienced Fire Damper Remedial Engineer to join their team.
As a Fire Damper Remedial Engineer, you will be responsible for assessing, testing, and repairing fire dampers within buildings throughout the UK. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the safety of buildings and play a vital role in our company's mission.
Job Profile:
- Conduct inspections and surveys of fire dampers in commercial and residential buildings to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
- Carry out detailed assessments of fire damper operation, identifying any issues or defects.
- Test and maintain fire dampers, ensuring they are in optimal working condition.
- Identify and rectify faults through cleaning, repairing, or replacing fire dampers as necessary.
- Complete all necessary record-keeping and reporting, including documenting inspections, test results, and remedial actions taken.
- Liaise with clients and building owners to provide detailed reports on the condition of fire dampers and any recommended remedial work.
- Collaborate with project managers and colleagues to ensure timely completion of required work.
- Keep up-to-date with fire safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices.
- Maintain all necessary equipment and tools in good working order.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations and safe working practices at all times.
Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Fire Damper Remedial Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of fire damper systems, including installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with relevant UK fire safety regulations and standards.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to diagnose and repair fire damper issues.
- Experience working with hand tools and equipment related to fire damper maintenance.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret technical information.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to liaise with clients and provide clear and concise reports.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid UK driving license.
- Relevant qualifications and certifications in fire safety, engineering, or related fields are desirable.
